Lemon Eucalyptus | Mosquito Repellent DIY Recipe

Posted by The Salt Lady on May 18th 2020

Ok, y'all... it's warming up and you know what that means around here--

Mosquitoes!

This week's #oiloftheweek is Lemon Eucalyptus so I thought I'd give you a quick rundown of a few of its benefits, as well as an easy DIY that may help you keep those pesky bitey things away!

Lemon Eucalyptus

In addition to helping prevent mosquito and tick bites when used in a spray like the one in the recipe below, Lemon Eucalyptus may also help you with reducing congestion or alleviating symptoms caused by asthma or a cold when used as a topical salve or diffused. It can also act as a pain reliever for joint pain when used topically.*

Try this recipe for your own mosquito spray, or dilute Lemon Eucalyptus with a carrier oil and dab on your wrists, ankles, and the back of your neck for your next outdoor summer activity! You can also use the oil undiluted on your hat, hiking shoes, socks, and/or bandana, but be sure to test first to make sure there is no discoloration of the fabric.

*Always remember to dilute essential oils properly for use on skin.
