3 Uses for Your #OILOFTHEWEEK -- This Week's Oil: Peppermint

Jul 1st 2020

This week's oil of the week is Peppermint.

Peppermint is one of the most commonly used essential oils, and that's probably because it's the most easily understood.

Read on for ways to put your #oildoftheweek to use!

EASE TUMMY TROUBLES

Use peppermint oil diluted, topically, on your stomach when you're feeling a nauseated. Our TumEase blend includes peppermint for just this purpose! For a bit of aromatherapy, you could use a salt lamp like this one with a few drops of peppermint oil, or try diffusing peppermint in your diffuser.

Alternately, simply hold the bottle under your nose, breathing deeply, for a few seconds at a time.

RELIEVE HEADACHES

While using peppermint for tummy troubles is common, did you know it may also help alleviate a headache? Simply dab a bit of *diluted* peppermint oil (or use one of our pre-diluted rollerball bottles!) on your temples and the back of your neck.

Alternatively, for sinus headaches, you can add 3 or 4 drops into a bowl of hot, steaming water, place a towel over your head and (with your eyes closed!) lean over the bowl and inhale the steam. Do this for only a minute or two. The mixture of steam and peppermint may help reduce congestions, open the sinuses, and alleviate sinus pressure.

ALLEVIATE MUSCLE PAIN

One of peppermint's main components is menthol, which is known to help with easing muscle pain. You can add it to a massage oil or compress, or try it in our Ache Away blend.

It's cooling effect is an added benefit when used on a compress (also try this on a hot day to help cool you off!)
