3 Uses for Your #OILOFTHEWEEK -- This Week's Oil: Basil

Jul 31st 2020

This week's oil of the week is Basil!

Basil has been known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibiotic, antiviral, anti-depressant, and diuretic qualities, so it was commonly used in traditional Asian medicine. Basil is a "hot" oil, which means that it always needs to be diluted for topical use.

But, what in the world do you do with it?!

A "HAPPY" OIL?

One benefit of Basil oil is that it can be used to help enhance your mood. Diffuse it to help brighten your day! Try blending it with LemonClary Sage, or Eucalyptus and diffusing in your home. Add Basil oil to your shower melts (recipe/DIY coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled!) and use them when you need a little pick-me-up!

RELIEVE TENSION AND CALM YOUR MIND

Basil is one of the key ingredients in our Tenseless blend. Try our Tenseless rollerball to help with tension headaches and/or neck pain. You may also find that it helps clear your mind and relax your body to help you sleep better. You could make a balm that includes Basil for use at the end of the day in preparation for a great night's sleep!

HELP GIVE YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM A BOOST

One of Basil oil's benefits is its bacteria and infection-fighting quality. Try adding it to your diffuser with your other favorite sickie-fighting oils for an added boost in immunity. It will also act in a similar way to Eucalyptus for coughs and chest colds when used in a chest balm.untitled-3-05.pngHave more questions about how to use Basil essential oil?
