Himalayan salt. Pure cooking salt. Pink salt. Pink stuff. That Himalayan sea salt (noooo – it’s not from the sea!). Healthy salt. If you are new to the health scene, you might be wondering what the big hype is from Himalayan salt. If you’ve been to any Upstate farmer’s market or popup, brewery, vintage, craft, holiday fair festivals and events – you might be wondering why there’s a salt lady there selling pink salt. I know it’s hard to explain a salt passion, but I’ll try.

Table Salt: Sodium chloride. Heavily processed, often has added agents to prevent clumping. In one word, BAD.

Sea Salt: Up to 10 minerals, processed from a polluted source (the sea – OCEAN!). Better.

Himalayan Salt: Up to 84 minerals and trace elements, mined from a clean pure source (inside the Himalayan mountain range). Pretty in pink. BEST.
