Melissa, sometimes referred to as lemon balm or bee balm, is one of the most exclusive and sought after expensive essential oils. The leaves and flowers do not yield much essential oil, thus the crazy high price tag.
Melissa essential oil may help tremendously with the emotions and feelings of life. Anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, extreme emotions are all included in this. Melissa oil has also been touted as being a help for indigestion and nausea.
Melissa essential oil has a delightful green, lemony, and slightly herbaceous aroma. Personally, I find this oil blends better into the skin with an apricot or almond base versus the coconut (personal preference). If you have oily skin, however, you may find the coconut carrier oil to be better suited to your skin type.
